Specialized Microscopes/Phase Contrast Microscopes

Phase-contrast is a useful contrast-enhancement technique which uses specialized objective lenses and condensers to observe subjects which can be otherwise invisible to the unaided eye. These microscopes are often biological compound microscopes which have been upgraded to include the specialized optics. These are commonly used to view microorganisms such as bacteria which may require contrast-enhancement to express details of internal structures.
