The Higher the Magnification - The More Detail You'll See

Magnification can represent combinations of lenses including objective, ocular, and auxiliary lenses. The magnification ranges described here may include these combinations.

Compound Microscopes may include additional eyepieces (ocular lenses) to expand the total magnification range.

Stereo and other Inspection Microscopes may include additional eyepieces and auxiliary lenses including Barlow lenses to expand the total magnification range.

Camera Types

Various types of cameras are available. Cameras intended to be used with computers will use USB, wi-fi, or LAN to connect to the computer, and typically include specialized software. Cameras with HDMI, VGA, or analog video interfaces can be attached directly to a compatible display device such as a monitor or television, and do not require a computer to operate.

Camera Pixels

Also referred to as camera resolution, the number of pixels represents the maximum size of images which can be displayed or recorded by a camera. The value is displayed using MP (megapixels).

The A3531BI makes digital imaging with your microscope a reality. This camera is designed specifically for use with microscopes, and can attach to a dedicated photo port or an ocular port. The C-mount interface can attach directly to a C-mount port, or use the included reduction lens to mount on 23.2mm, 30mm, or 30.5mm tubes. Using the reduction lens has the added benefit of maximizing the field of view to capture more of the subject being viewed.

Compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux based computers, the camera connects using a single USB 2.0 cable for data and power. Using our specialized imaging software, you can watch and record real-time video of microscopic subjects, as well as capture still images. The Windows version includes an extended toolset with time-lapse, auto-stitching, focus stacking, counting aids, and more.

The camera’s 3.1MP image sensor uses back-illuminated CMOS technology for improved light-gathering efficiency with superior noise handling. This allows you to capture images with lower light levels and with shorter exposure times.
